Indian Rocks Beach Library features something for everyone

INDIAN ROCKS BEACH – Preschool Story Time will be offered Mondays at 4 p.m. at the Indian Rocks Beach Library.
Babies, toddlers, preschoolers and beginning readers and their parents are welcome for stories, coloring or fun with toys.
The library also will offer a summer reading program for preschoolers and elementary school children beginning Monday, July 7, and continuing through Friday, Aug. 1. Participants who sign up will get certificates, prizes and books just for reading. Parents of preschoolers may sign them up and read to their children. Agape the Reading Therapy Dog will be on hand once a week. Weekly events with guest readers and all kinds of fun will be part of the program. There will be a party for all who joined the program during the final week.
Wednesday’s Word, an open-mic poetry reading, will continue throughout the summer, on the fourth Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. On Wednesday, June 25, Wednesday’s Word will meet on the beach at the 16th Avenue access, if nature permits. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own poetry, someone else’s poetry or just come to listen.
Books recently added to the library’s collection include: “Audition,” by Barbara Walters; “Careless in Red,” by Elizabeth George; “Certain Girls,” by Jennifer Weiner; “Cheating at Solitaire,” by Jane Haddam; “The Genius,” by Jesse Kellerman; “Ice Cold Grave,” by Charlaine Harris; “Losing It,” by Valerie Bertinelli; “Miracle at Speedy Motors,” by Alexander McCall Smith; “Odd Hours,” by Dean Koontz; “Phantom Prey,” by John Sandford; “Prince of Frogtown,” by Rick Bragg; “The Reapers,” by John Connolly; “Right is Wrong,” by Ariana Huffington; “Santa Fe Dead,” by Stuart Woods; “Shadow of Power,” by Steve Martini; “Sundays at Tiffany’s,” by James Patterson; “The Third Angel,” by Alice Hoffman; “Unaccustomed Earth,” by Jhumpa Lahiri; and “Wolf at the Table,” by Augusten Burroughs.
