Brewmaster Steak and Seafood House to add sports bar
Article published on Wednesday, June 18, 2008
INDIAN ROCKS BEACH – Sports bar patrons who’ve been lamenting the loss of the Blue Marlin can take heart. Soon there will be a new kid on the block.

G. David Howard plans to open Marlin Time Waterfront Sports Bar inside of his Brewmaster Steak House and Seafood Grill on Friday, July 4.

“I’m really excited about it,” Howard said. “Brewmaster will still be the same restaurant. We’re simply adding a sports bar.”

Mark Ternes, who is a familiar face to those who frequented the Blue Marlin, is designing Marlin Time and he will manage the bar.

“It takes a special breed of cat to run a sports bar,” Howard said. “Mark knows that business and he is really good at what he does.”

Howard said Marlin Time will feature 20 plasma TVs, big screen TVs, two pool tables, and assorted games, including darts. Seating will be all high top tables and the fare will include wings and other “finger food” plus patrons will be able to order from the Brewmaster restaurant menu, if they so desire.

As part of its family-friendly approach, smoking will not be allowed inside Marlin Time, but Howard said a rear deck will be used to accommodate smokers.

Brewmaster Steak and Seafood House is at 401 Second St.
