Clearwater Beach Chamber honors members

CLEARWATER – The Clearwater Beach Chamber of Commerce hosted its 13th annual awards banquet recently at Shephard’s Beach Resort.

The festivities began with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres on “The Wave” Tiki Deck. Entertainment was provided by Steve Geyer of Musical Images and Tommy Jones Magic. Celebrating the completion of BeachWalk, party favors were constructed of small sections of the old road with rubber duckies dressed in construction outfits.

The Clearwater Beach Chamber of Commerce awarded local businesses for excellence. The award winners included Hilton Clearwater Beach Resort for Large Business of the Year, Gulfside Florist for Small Business of the Year, Craig West from Synovus Bank for Volunteer of the Year, John Besedic from Neuvision for Citizen of the Year and Charlie Painter from the Jolley Trolley received the new Tourism Employee of the Year.

Rosemarie Bonnington of Swisshelm Realty won the grand prize vacation package, and Mary Small from the Hilton Clearwater Beach won a gift certificate to SouthBeach Sports Grill for wearing the Ugliest Tropical Shirt.
