Belleair Bluffs Mayor Chris Arbutine did the honors at the ribbon cutting for the Arbor Elle Little Free Library Grand Opening June 30.
BELLEAIR BLUFFS – A new community resource has come to Antique Alley.
Renee Burrell of Arbor Elle Vintage Decor decided to become a steward of a Little Free Library, a movement started by Todd Bol and Rick Brooks of Wisconsin in 2009. To mark the occasion, a ribbon cutting ceremony and book trading party was held June 30
The Little Free Libraries mission is to promote literacy and the love of reading by building free book exchanges. There’s currently 15,000 Little Free Libraries worldwide. The libraries work on the honor system of, “Take a book, return a book.”
“The library is a great opportunity to pay it forward and share your favorite literature with your neighbors, plus treat yourself to a good read,” Burrell said, in a press release.
The public is invited to use the library anytime during the store’s summer business hours Tuesday through Saturday noon to 4 p.m. An after hours book depository is available.
Arbor Elle is located in Antique Alley #4, 596 N. Indian Rocks Road.
