Instructor Renee Musheno, who is already leading a YMCA beginning exercise class at Belleair Beach, wants to share her enthusiasm for the benefits of water exercise.
Water exercise is a gentle way to exercise joints and muscles. Water supports joints to encourage free movement and also may act as resistance to help build muscle strength. The soothing warmth and buoyancy of water make it a safe environment for relieving arthritis pain and stiffness. Exercise also can lead to mood enhancement and improves sense of self-esteem and accomplishment.
