CLEARWATER - Utility work slated for Gulf Boulevard Construction is set to begin Monday, Oct. 7, on the Gulf Boulevard Force Main
Repair Project. The area to be impacted is along Gulf Boulevard south of the Shoppes at Sand Key to the Coast Guard
Recurring pipeline failures have happened along Gulf Boulevard for some time, and this repair project will harden
the pipeline to prevent future failures.
The scope of work includes replacing existing sanitary sewer pipeline fittings and restrained joints and constructing a temporary aboveground bypass to provide uninterrupted sewer service during construction. Traffic will be routed around the work zone during construction, and two-way traffic will be maintained throughout the project. Only temporary lane closures will be required.
Variable Message Boards along the project site are currently in place, and the contractor is delivering resident notification letters to the condos in the area.
Construction is expected to be completed by Jan. 8.
