CLEARWATER – The Clearwater Gateway Market will have its grand opening on Saturday, Jan. 12, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the 1200 block of Cleveland Street near Missouri Avenue.
This new farmers market will be the largest multicultural farmer’s market in Clearwater.
“Clearwater Gateway Farmer’s Market is doing everything it can to entice customers and will offer produce and artisan goods with a focus on cross-cultural options,” according to a market press release.
The market will be open to the public each Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will offer local food, produce, artisan goods and art representative of Pinellas County’s culturally diverse population. At the inaugural market, there will be live music by singer and guitar player, Carlos Rodriguez, and Magic Jay will bring his magic to the streets to entertain people of all ages.
“The market will create a central gathering place where the community can come together to shop and engage in culturally enriching activities,” the release said.
The market is a partnership between the city of Clearwater, the Pinellas County Health Department’s Communities Putting Prevention to Work grant, the InterCultural Advocacy Center, and Pinellas County Health and Human Services. Current sponsors include the Pinellas Community Foundation, Law Office of Francisco D. Coll, PostcardMania, and Greektown Grille.
