CLEARWATER – The city of Clearwater recently announced the following road and lane closures.

Through Friday, Jan. 31, three streets are currently under construction for milling and resurfacing, and only local traffic will be allowed through.

• Eldridge Street from Vine Street to Myrtle Avenue, with the detour route of Seminole Street

• Seminole Street from Myrtle Avenue to Vine Street with the detour being Palmetto Street

• Vine Avenue from Eldridge to Nicholson Street with the detour routes being either Myrtle or Pennsylvania avenues.

Through Tuesday, May 6, various lanes of Court Street from Missouri to Highland avenues will be under construction. Contractors for the Florida Department of Transportation will mill and resurface the road and make upgrades to the pedestrian signals and sidewalks so they are ADA-compliant. Motorists can expect lane closures, delays and congestion. A detour is in place, and suggested alternate routes include Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard, Cleveland Street and Myrtle Street.

On Sunday, Jan. 19, the following road closures will take place from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. due to the Clearwater Running Festival. All are moving lane closures, and police escort will allow through traffic when it is safe for competitors:

• Clearwater Causeway from Memorial Causeway Bridge to the roundabout
• Southbound lane of Clearwater Pass Bridge and shoulder
• Cleveland Street from Osceola Avenue to the waterfront
• Coronado Drive from the roundabout to Gulfview Boulevard
• Court Street from Osceola Avenue to the Memorial Causeway Bridge
• Fort Harrison Avenue from Lotus Path to the Pinellas Trail
• Gulf Boulevard from the Sand Key Park entrance to Walsingham Road
• Gulfview Boulevard from Coronado Drive to Beach Walk on Clearwater Beach
• Osceola Avenue from Cleveland to Court Streets
