CLEARWATER – The 2013 Clearwater Beach Sugar Sand Festival has earned a Silver Adrian Award for public relations excellence in the special event category from Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International.
Event creator Lisa Chandler, the city of Clearwater and presenting sponsor Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort and Spa will be honored at the 57th annual Adrian Awards Gala on Feb. 24 in New York City.
The Adrian Awards attract more than 1,200 entries worldwide and is the largest and most prestigious travel marketing competition globally, according to a press release.
“We are incredibly honored to be recognized by the industry in this way, particularly for our inaugural year,” Chandler said. “Building upon last year’s overwhelming success, this year’s festival, now titled Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival, promises to be even bigger and better.”
This year’s festival is set for April 4 to 13 and will be featured as part of the city’s annual Fun N Sun festival.
