CLEARWATER – The city of Clearwater is notifying beach residents and visitors in advance about one or more loud “booms” that are going to sound on Clearwater Beach Wednesday, Jan. 29, possibly in the afternoon.
The loud sounds are associated with soil testing for construction that is taking place on the former Adam’s Mark Hotel site, 430 South Gulfview Blvd.
The loud sounds are expected and are part of a construction project. It is not necessary to call 911 in regard to these particular blasts.
The contractor will clear surrounding beach and water areas prior to the detonations. Similar “booms” sounded with construction related to the now-built Pier House 60 and Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach hotels.
