Aungst earns chamber award for CMA work
CLEARWATER – Brian J. Aungst Jr., Esq. of Macfarlane Ferguson & McMullen, recently was selected as the recipient of the Economic Advancement Business of the Year Award by the Clearwater Chamber of Commerce for his work related to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. Aungst was lead counsel for the aquarium in its effort to build a new state-of-the-art aquarium in downtown Clearwater. A graduate of the University of Florida Levin College of Law, Aungst was also selected as a Florida Super Lawyer – Rising Star for 2013 and 2014. His practice includes an array of private and public sector clients with a focus on civil litigation and land use.

Lucke graduates from Fastsigns program
CLEARWATER – Amy Lucke, visual communications expert from Fastsigns of Clearwater, recently completed an extensive three-day sales boot camp training program at the Fastsigns corporate headquarters in Dallas.

“This month, 19 sales professionals from different Fastsigns locations across the country attended our vigorous sales boot camp training,” said Jim Howe, vice president of franchise support at Fastsigns International Inc. “With over 540 locations worldwide, our goal is to build sales leaders across the Fastsigns network. As we expand, we continue to offer our centers the effective training they need to stay ahead in their markets and serve customers with the best products and services possible.”

The Fastsigns sales boot camp covers the essential skills and effective techniques needed throughout the entire sales process. The course includes classroom instruction, live exercises and in-depth coaching from the Fastsigns training team.

“After spending three exciting days at the sales boot camp and networking with fellow Fastsigns peers, I’m excited to get out there and execute what I have learned,” said Lucke. “At Fastsigns of Clearwater, we’re more than ready to provide our clients with the cutting-edge visual communications they need to get their message across and stand out. Whether it’s digital signs, vehicle graphics, menu boards, tradeshow displays and more, we can provide it.”

Orangetheory Fitness opens
CLEARWATER – Orangetheory Fitness recently opened its newest location near Countryside Mall at 25853 U.S. 19 N. The new location is the eighth studio the company has in southwest Florida.

“We are excited to be a part of the Orangetheory Fitness Tampa Bay family,” said Deann Venuti, co-owner of the Clearwater location. “We have seen such tremendous results with our workout and we are excited that Clearwater can now get in the Orange. A portion of each membership joined the opening evening will be given to the Children¹s Cancer Center.”

Currently, Tampa Bay has the largest number of open studios. The Orangetheory Fitness franchise will expand to more than 200 locations by mid-2014, with several more in the Tampa Bay region.

Galloway opens window cleaning franchise
CLEARWATER – Fish Window Cleaning recently announced the opening of a new franchise at 755 Main St., Suite A, Dunedin. The new business provides services for commercial and residential customers in Belleair, Belleair Beach, Belleair Bluffs, Clearwater, Clearwater Beach, Crystal Beach, Dunedin, Largo, Oldsmar, Palm Harbor, and Safety Harbor.

This Fish Window Cleaning location is owned by Dan Galloway. Prior to joining the company, Galloway had extensive experience in financial services, information technology, and sales, preceded by more than 13 years of leadership roles in the U.S. Air Force.

“Our franchise owners get to draw on Fish’s 35 years of knowledge and experience,” said Nathan Merrick, vice president of franchise development. “Fish offers proven methods, training, a nationally recognizable business name, and uniformity. Dan’s vast business experience partnered with his passion and enthusiasm is sure to make his business successful.”

To prepare for the new business, Galloway completed multiple weeks of training in the Clearwater area and at Fish Window Cleaning headquarters in St. Louis, Mo. He is currently hiring and accepting applications.

HomeBanc names assistant branch manager
CLEARWATER – Tampa-based HomeBancorp Inc. has promoted Jason Allen to officer, assistant retail branch manager at its Countryside office. Allen was formerly assistant retail branch manager. He has been with HomeBanc since 2010 and has several years of retail banking experience. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Oakland University in Rochester, Mich., and his community and professional affiliations include membership in the Clearwater Chamber of Commerce.

BIC Graphic wins multiple awards
CLEARWATER – BIC Graphic recently won three gold awards for calendars at the 11th annual Service Industry Advertising Awards. The three calendars, developed in partnership with Seltzer Kaufman Marketing in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., were completely custom designs. There were six awards given for calendars and BIC Graphic received the only gold awards given in the calendar category.

The Service Industry Advertising Awards began in 2003 to recognize the advertising excellence of the service industry. At the 11th annual Service Industry Advertising Awards, more than 500 advertising agencies and over 1,000 institutions participated.

Some 1,700 entries were received in this year’s competition. A national panel of judges evaluated and rated entries in eight groups and 26 categories. The judges awarded 152 Gold Awards, 111 Silver Awards as well as 82 Bronze Awards.

BIC Graphic also received awards from several distributors at the close of 2013.

Kim Richardt, account executive, was named the 2013 Supplier Sales Rep of the Year by IpromoteU. BIC Graphic also was named one of IPU’s top 10 suppliers at No. 6.

Richardt also was the recipient of the Most Outstanding Customer Service award by Kaeser & Blair dealer, Arthur Mickelson.

Other awards and distinctions include:

• BIC Graphic received 2013 Supplier of the Year Awards from Deluxe, Universal Unilink, Render, and Houston Promotional Products Association.

• BIC Graphic achieved Premier Status with the Premier Supplier Group. Staples upgraded BIC Graphic from “Prestige” to “Gold” Supplier Status.

• At the HALO Awards Banquet, Dustin Wicks was honored as the Supplier Sales Rep of the Year. BIC Graphic was also upgraded to Preferred Plus, Halo’s top supplier level.
