CLEARWATER – Belleair Elementary in Clearwater was in lockdown Feb. 26 after Clearwater Police received a single 911 call about a potential shooting at the school.
Numerous police officers responded to the report around 3 p.m. and conducted a thorough, room-by-room search of the school.
Police reported that the lockdown had been lifted about 4:20 p.m. after it was determined that there was no shooting, shooter or gun and that the call was a hoax.
