CLEARWATER – Religious Community Services Inc. recently announced receipt of a $10,000 grant from The Bi-Lo Holdings Foundation.
The money will be used to purchase food that is high in nutritional value. The nutrient-dense food will be given out to people in need at RCS Food Bank.
“These funds will make an impact on our community by providing healthy food to thousands of people,” said Caitlin Higgins Joy, RCS CEO. “A few years ago, RCS Food Bank made a commitment to the community to provide more wholesome, healthy foods to the individuals and families we serve. We increased our refrigeration and freezer capacity, allowing us to safely distribute lean meats, low fat dairy products and fresh produce. This grant partnership will help keep those walk-in refrigerators and freezers well-stocked for another month.
The Bi-Lo Holdings Foundation has a long tradition of supporting the neighborhoods it serves and makes grants available to local nonprofit organizations to support programs and initiatives that foster healthy and thriving communities. Bi-Lo Holdings, LLC is the parent company of Bi-Lo and Winn-Dixie grocery stores.
