CLEARWATER – Clearwater Business SPARK recently announced Pinellas County SCORE as its newest partner to support entrepreneurs and small business owners.
As a partner of Clearwater Business SPARK, SCORE offers real-world business mentoring, support tools, business workshops and business events to help a business owner prosper. Now SCORE will use its expertise to team up with Clearwater Business SPARK and its partners to help people start a business and help those with existing businesses in greater Clearwater.
“As one of the most established business growth resources in Pinellas County, SCORE is honored to join Clearwater Business SPARK as a partner,” said Walter McCracken, Pinellas County SCORE chapter chair, in a press release. “This partnership will just strengthen the existing relations SCORE has with the Pinellas County business community.”
Pinellas County SCORE can assist with business strategy, business planning, business sales, business finance, marketing, accounting and technology.
“Pinellas County SCORE adds more than 50 years experience working with local businesses and entrepreneurs to the Clearwater Business SPARK network,” said Audra Aja, program coordinator. “They have more than 50 seasoned mentors prepared to assist businesses with one-on-one mentorship and coaching, business workshops and an array of online business tools and templates. They provide free workshops on a monthly basis at the Clearwater Main Library to support the needs of our community, and we are proud to welcome them as a partner of the Clearwater Business SPARK network to support the start-up and growth of local businesses.”
Clearwater Business SPARK is a network of partners who support local small businesses and entrepreneurs looking to start or grow their business. Pinellas County SCORE joins the partnership network that includes the Clearwater Regional Chamber of Commerce, Florida Small Business Development Center at Pinellas County Economic Development, the city of Clearwater’s Economic Development and Housing Department, Clearwater Public Library System, Clearwater Community Redevelopment Agency, Prospera, formerly Hispanic Business Initiative Fund (HBIF), and Florida Business Incubator, formerly known as TAFFIE.
Clearwater Business SPARK provides business programs and services including business planning and coaching, educational programs, networking opportunities, guidance for doing business with the federal government and international markets and incubator services. Clearwater Business SPARK also offers access to databases and market research tools, a variety of co-working, meeting and training spaces and hands-on tools and activities at Studios@Main, a unique makerspace located within the Clearwater Main Library.
Clearwater Business SPARK and its partners will present Discover, Create, Innovate: Entrepreneurial, Small Business and Makerspace Event on Wednesday, May 24, 6 to 8 p.m., at the Clearwater Main Library, 100 N. Osceola Ave., Clearwater.
Attendees will learn about the latest local resources for start-ups, small business owners and entrepreneurs. Guests will tour the Clearwater Main Library’s Multimedia and Innovation Studios to learn and experience the exciting, free programs offered to start-ups, small business owners and entrepreneurs. The software and programs include business databases, 3-D printers and scanners, design and production software and audio and video equipment. Guests also will learn about the multiple education workshops, business coaching programs and networking opportunities offered through Clearwater Business SPARK and its partners.
