CLEARWATER – A body discovered in Clearwater on May 17 on the north side of the Courtney Campbell Causeway is that of a missing 9-year-old from Tampa.
Two people fishing from shore found the body, according to a Clearwater police report. The body was found about 3:30 p.m. She was floating along the rocks and mangroves just off the access road north of the causeway near the eastern fringe of Clearwater city limits.
Clearwater police and the Pinellas County Medical Examiner’s Officer responded, and the latter took the body into custody.
The girl was identified as a missing 9-year-old girl, Felecia Nicole Williams, and the case was turned over to Temple Terrace police.
According to a police report, Williams vanished from a family friend’s apartment complex in Temple Terrace on May 16, and police have ruled the case a homicide.
Eboni Alicia Wiley, 23, of Tampa, was arrested May 17 on a third-degree felony charge of providing false information to a law enforcement officer during a missing persons investigation. She was released on bond the next morning.
Williams was visiting Wiley, a family acquaintance, at the Doral Oaks apartment complex in Temple Terrace when she disappeared between 5:30 and 6 p.m.
