Clearwater police present Susan Biggs, the victim of a June 3 carjacking, a new Bible June 9. Hers was stolen during the crime.
CLEARWATER – A squad of Clearwater police officers had a surprise on June 9 for carjacking victim, Susan Biggs.
They met her when she showed up for work recently at 5:30 a.m. at Morton Plant Mease Hospital and gave her a new Bible to replace the one that was taken when she was carjacked June 3.
Biggs had been reading the Bible in her car when two teens showed a gun and forced her to let them take her car. She got the car back, but the Bible was missing. The officers purchased a new Bible and added the inscription, “From your friends at the Clearwater Police Department.”
Biggs said she was touched by the tremendous show of compassion from the officers and thanked them for all they had done for her, including making her feel safe on the day of the crime.
She also received a Bible from the Morton Plant Mease Foundation.
