BELLEAIR – The new officers of the GFWC Clearwater Community Woman’s Club were recently installed at the club’s spring luncheon at Belleair Country Club.
Installed were Ann Crum, president; Mary Jane Robbins, first vice president; Esther Miseroy, second vice president; Edie Banks, third vice president; Barbara DeBarr, recording secretary; Lois Jones, corresponding secretary; Linda Parker, treasurer, and Ann Brewer, member at large.
CCWC President Ann Crum, thanked the members for their outstanding year of community outreach. Club members donated 11,421 volunteer hours to area nonprofit organizations and projects. Part of this outreach included shipping 16 cartons of supplies to military personnel stationed in Iraq and raising more than $10,000 for the Clearwater Library and the Daisy Grant awards.
The club, as part of FFWC District 14, also helped raise $5,000 for an ark for Heifer International, a program which provides livestock and services to families with limited resources worldwide. Immediately following the luncheon and installation club members gathered at the historic Belleview Biltmore Hotel for a photo shoot highlighting the General Federation of Woman’s Club partnership with the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s mission to save places that matter. Club members hope to meet again for another photo when the hotel reopens to the public after an extensive renovation and restoration project.
