Inbound and outbound exchange students enjoy the Clearwater Beach Rotary’s farewell party.
CLEARWATER – The Rotary Club of Clearwater Beach recently held a farewell party for inbound and outbound exchange students as well as their host parents.
More than 40 guests enjoyed the food and activities provided by the Rotary. In addition, the students and their host families provided an international array of menu items from around the world. The farewell party gave the students an opportunity to meet for one last time before returning to or leaving for their separate parts of the world. The students represented Belgium, Thailand, Slovakia, Russia, Brazil, Ecuador, The Netherlands, and Peru.
Every year, more than 8,000 high school students from around the globe participate in the Rotary Youth Exchange program. Through the efforts of Rotary volunteers and families, the students experience new cultures and learn a new language. The program is an enriching experience for both host families and the student. The experience can bridge differences between cultures and the memories can last a lifetime. For more information on the program in Florida, visit www.ryeflorida.org.
