CLEARWATER – The Clearwater Threshers are ready to Pitch for Pink as they once again join the fight against breast cancer. The 12th annual fundraiser, which will be held July 14 at Spectrum Field, will support breast health services at Morton Plant Mease hospitals.
The night’s events will kick off at 6 p.m. with a survivor walk around the field. Following the walk, Threshers’ players will hit the field in pink jerseys to face off against the Bradenton Marauders at 6:15 p.m.
A variety of activities are planned for the night, including raffles, a silent auction and a fireworks display following the game.
According to community relations manager Amanda Koch, the first 1,000 women who enter the park will receive a free stainless steel travel mug.
Silent auction items up for grabs include a two-night stay at Shepard’s Beach Resort, a golf bag, Ruth Eckerd Hall tickets, a Chi Chi Rodriguez golf package and gift basket, an autographed pink bat, a kayaking course and a massage and facial gift package.
Tickets range in cost from $6 to $10, with all but $1 per ticket price going straight to Morton Plant Mease, Koch said.
“Just by showing up, you are already donating to such a great cause,” Koch said.
Last year’s event raised more than $19,000 and in the past 11 years, the Threshers have donated almost $255,000 to breast health services in Pinellas County.
