Help requested in hit and run with injuries CLEARWATER – The Clearwater Police Department needs the public’s help in finding the vehicle and its owner who struck two bicyclists on Sept. 1 on Memorial Causeway and then left the scene. Both bicyclists were left in critical condition. Anyone with information is asked to call 562-4242.
Senior drives car into business CLEARWATER – An 88-year-old woman was taken to the hospital as a precaution after she drove her car into a business at 2907 S.R. 590 at 10 a.m. on Aug. 30, according to Clearwater police. According to a police report, the woman blacked out and veered into the business.
Murder suspect arrested CLEARWATER – Clearwater Police arrested a 16 year old on Aug. 29 and charged him with first-degree murder in a random act of violence that left a 22-year-old man dead. Jason Paul was killed in January as he rode his bike home from work, a police report said.
Clearwater police charged Mychal King in the Jan. 6 murder. Paul was riding his bike near Crest Lake Park when he was stabbed to death. Clearwater detectives William Hodgson and Kerri Felici were instrumental in solving the case, police say, and they followed numerous tips and leads to bring charges against King, who has “an extensive criminal past.”
