CLEARWATER – Clearwater Police on Sept. 2 arrested a suspect involved in an armed robbery of the Circle K on Gulf to Bay on Aug. 29, according to a police report.
According to police, Christopher Kelly, 28 of Clearwater entered the Circle K around 1:30 a.m., went to the cooler and brought a can of coke to the counter. When the clerk rang it up, he pulled out a knife and demanded money from the register. He then jumped over the counter, opened the register and took some cash and fled, the report said.
Kelly is charged with resisting arrest without violence and robbery with a deadly weapon or firearm. He is being held at the Pinellas County Jail in lieu of $50,150 bond.
Man convicted of capital sexual battery
CLEARWATER – Johnnie Cheek, 35 of Clearwater has been sentenced to 20 years in prison, followed by 10 years of probation and sexual predator status, following his May arrest for capital sexual battery, according to a Clearwater Police report.
Cheek was found guilty of forcing a 7-year-old girl to perform sexual acts on him on three different occasions, the report said.
