CLEARWATER – Steve Durr lives in Ohio. But he’ll hit the road in October to take his 8-year-old daughter, Kylisha, to the Girls Incorporated of Pinellas Father-Daughter Ball.
This year’s event is Saturday, Oct. 13, at the Kapok Pavilion Grand Ballroom, 923 McMullen Booth Road in Clearwater.
They went last year and were hooked. And Durr isn’t letting a little distance keep him away.
“We had such a great time last year, I plan to take my daughter to this event until she’s 18 years old,” said Durr. “She’s growing up so fast, I don’t want to miss the opportunity to share this special time together with my princess.”
Durr began calling Girls Inc. in March to get information about the ball and make sure he had plenty of time to plan.
The ball will be an enchanted evening for hundreds of dads and daughters. Radio Disney will provide the entertainment, and the ball also includes a sumptuous buffet catered by Texas Cattle Company, portraits, auctions and more. Auction items include vacation getaways, sports memorabilia, tickets to Florida attractions and plenty of bling. This will be an evening dad’s royal princess won’t forget.
The first 100 girls to register will receive a complimentary limo ride from Fifth Third Bank to the Kapok Pavilion. Last year, this event sold out well in advance. Reservations are required, no walk-ups.
Proceeds benefit Girls Incorporated of Pinellas, a nonprofit youth development program helping the girls of today develop the tools and vision to become the leaders of tomorrow.
