SAFETY HARBOR – The city of Safety Harbor Community Redevelopment Agency provides economic incentives encouraged by the Downtown Master Plan. Downtown Partnership Grant funding is available this fall for projects within the Community Redevelopment District. The application deadline is Oct. 16.
Grant categories include: building facade, front porch, fencing/walls, signage, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) improvements, public art/murals, landscaping, dumpster enclosure, and interior renovation/new non-residential building. Most of the grants require a 50 percent match. A new commercial grant category was added for developments that incorporate a grocery/market or hardware store uses up to a maximum of $30,000.
The grant application requires a proposal that details the scope of work and two contractor cost estimates. Applicants are encouraged to work with contractors based in Safety Harbor.
