CLEARWATER – A Clearwater woman was arrested for child abuse Sept. 29 at 3 p.m. after school employees noticed bruises on a child, according to a Clearwater Police Report.
The suspect, Jennifer Holt, 28, is accused of striking the 7-year-old girl multiple times in her face, forehead and scalp area, causing extensive bruising, the report said. School employees noticed the bruises, even though Holt used makeup to try to hide the injuries. They contacted authorities, and Holt was arrested. The victim and another child, who were both in the suspect’s care, were taken into protective custody.
Holt was charged with child abuse and was being held at the Pinellas County Jail.
