CLEARWATER – A man is in jail for alleged trafficking of cocaine, according to a Clearwater Police report.
On Oct. 2, Clearwater Police tried to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation in the area of Keene and Sunset Point Road. The driver, identified as Robert Davis, 36, of Clearwter fled and bailed out in the 1700 block of Townsend Street, while throwing something under the vehicle, the report said.
Davis ran into a residence, which turned out to be his own, and refused to come out, the report said. Officers determined that Davis had a felony warrant out of Hillsborough County, so they entered the home and took him into custody. The investigation revealed a trafficking amount of cocaine – 35.9 grams – and other drugs and paraphernalia. Davis was charged with trafficking in cocaine and fleeing and eluding a law enforcement officer. His Hillsorough charge was a violation of parole for the delivery of cocaine. His Pinellas charges were set at $55,000 bond. There was no bond set for the Hillsborough charge.
