CLEARWATER – The city of Clearwater’s Community Redevelopment Agency is accepting applications from interested Clearwater stakeholders to become a part of an advisory group for the Clearwater East Gateway District.
The group will focus on the area bounded by Highland and Missouri avenues on the east and west and Drew and Court streets on the north and south. Group members will include residents, property owners, business owners, and other interested parties. Member terms will run through September 2017.
The group will consist of six to 12 stakeholders, representing a cross-section of neighborhood interests and will meet monthly or bi-monthly to provide feedback on the activities of the East Gateway Task Force.
The Stakeholders Advisory Group was formed to make recommendations and provide key information to the East Gateway Task Force for the implementation of the East Gateway Five-Year Action Program approved in October 2013. The Action Program sets forth a series of measures to bring about positive change in the designated redevelopment area of Clearwater.
Stakeholders will play a vital role in implementing the program by providing first-hand information regarding neighborhood issues; providing solutions that best meet neighborhood needs, preferences and values; identifying members of the public that need to be involved; and suggesting ways to increase public involvement.
Applications will be accepted through Monday, Oct. 21. To apply, visit www.myclearwater.com/eastgateway or call Geraldine Campos Lopez at 562-4023. Fax applications to 562-4075.
