CLEARWATER – Putting a brew pub location in one of its brand’s strongest markets, Sea Dog Brewing Co. will bring its handcrafted beer and Northeastern menu to Clearwater, planning for a mid-November opening at 26200 U.S. 19 N.
The Clearwater Sea Dog Brew Pub will be the first in Florida, with an Orlando location opening soon after. Opening near the Countryside Mall in the former Pssghetti’s building, Seadog Clearwater Properties LLC, represented itself in the purchase of the 10,400-square-foot retail building. Sea Dog’s beer, especially the Blueberry Wheat Ale, has grown in popularity in Florida over the past 10 years, making Florida one of its strongest markets and contributing to the company’s attraction to the area.
There are currently three company-owned Sea Dog Brew Pubs in Maine and another four in Massachusetts that opened through a licensing agreement.
“People know the Sea Dog brand in New England and they seek it out in Florida,” said Paul Carbone in a press release. Carbone is Florida sales and marketing manager of Sea Dog Brewing Co. “There is a craving for quality craft beer in this region and it’s an area where we feel we can grow.”
