CLEARWATER - A Clearwater man was arrested Nov. 23 for lewd and lascivious battery on a 14-year-old girl.
Jeffrey Joseph Lacava, 30, also was booked on unrelated charges of violation of probation for grand theft and possession of a controlled substance.
The victim is a 14-year-old female who is known to the suspect, and according to detectives with the Crimes Against Children Unit, the crime occurred on at least four separate occasions during the month of October at a private residence in Clearwater.
Detectives began to investigate the case in early November after the victim disclosed to her sister that she had been touched by the suspect in a sexual manner. The sister reported the crime and detectives began to investigate.
Lacava is being held in the Pinellas County Jail awaiting trial. Bond was set at $20,000 for the lewd and Lascivious charges. No bond was set for the other two charges.
