CLEARWATER – A pedestrian hit by a vehicle on the evening of Dec. 1 has died, according to a Clearwater Police report.
A 57-year-old male was trying to cross Missouri Avenue from the east, just south of Turner Street, the report said. A vehicle was traveling south on Missouri in the curb lane when the driver saw the pedestrian in the roadway but said he was unable to avoid hitting him.
The pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Morton Plant Hospital where he died. The driver was not injured.
