CLEARWATER – The Clearwater East Library, 2251 Drew St., has received the distinction of being among the top 200 nominated libraries according to the Association of Library Service to Children and Lego Duplo.
The nominations were a part of the early literacy program, “Read! Build! Play!” and East Library received 1,348 votes, placing it 50th and qualifying it to receive a toolkit of Duplo bricks and preschool books to bolster its early childhood programs.
“We recently received the items and are so excited,” said Valerie Mathre, youth services librarian. “We plan on creating ‘Read! Build! Play!’ story times starting this summer.
