CLEARWATER – The city of Clearwater is looking for an artist or team of artists to design an original logo that will serve as an artistic celebration of the city’s centennial anniversary.
Professional artists and teams of artists at least 18 years old and living in the Tampa Bay area are eligible to participate. The application deadline is 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 10.
An honorarium of $1,000 will be awarded to the chosen artist or team. A professional artist is defined as practicing fine art, generally recognized by critics and peers as a professional of serious intent and ability. The logo must be an indication of the history events, culture and/or natural beauty of the city of Clearwater.
A selection panel will include a minimum of five voting members, including a member of the Clearwater Public Art and Design Board and one artist or arts professional. The panel also may include one or more non-voting advisers, deemed appropriate by city staff.
The city’s centennial is May 27, 2015. To find out where to submit a logo or for additional information, contact Christopher Hubbard at 562-4837 or at Christopher.firstname.lastname@example.org.
