Neighborhood and Homes of the Quarter announced

CLEARWATER – Harbor Oaks Neighborhood and four homeowners were selected for the neighborhood and homes of the quarter recognition program by the city. The Neighborhood and Home Recognition Program celebrates the uniqueness of Clearwater’s many neighborhoods and its residents.
The award for Neighborhood of the Quarter recognizes those neighborhoods that have demonstrated a decrease in neighborhood crime, a decrease in code violations, an increase in neighborhood involvement and empowerment, community pride activities and/or neighborhood sustainability.
The Harbor Oaks Neighborhood is the Winter 2006/2007 Neighborhood of the Quarter. The neighborhood, north of Jeffords Street and west of South Fort Harrison Avenue, will receive a Neighborhood of the Quarter sign that will be placed at the neighborhood entrance. The Harbor Oaks neighborhood association also received a certificate presented at the Jan. 18, City Council meeting.
Homeowners will receive a certificate of appreciation, a plaque to be permanently affixed to the home and Home of the Quarter yard sign. Award recipients include:
• Ed and Linda Clark, 10 North Lake Ave.
• James T. Ponticelli, 1626 Cleveland St.
• James Strickland and Elizabeth Cruickshank, 1637 Cleveland St.
• The Sobota home, 2472 Bernice Drive.
