CLEARWATER – Bernie McCabe, State Attorney for Pinellas and Pasco counties, Sixth Judicial Circuit of Florida, was the featured speaker at a recent Rotary Club of Clearwater meeting at Belleair Country Club.
McCabe, a native Floridian, discussed case volume and results over the past year, expressing the magnitude of operations involving the State Attorney’s Office. McCabe also spoke about the difficulties in operating and paying for basic governmental services with the legislature cutting back funding and budgets in all sectors. He advised the Rotary Club that, to meet his annual budget, he had to operate with reduced staff and absent additional sources of funding, will probably have to make further reductions in the future.
He indicated that his organization is not alone and that all essential areas of government are having to tighten their belts and simply reduce services across the board.
