Article published on Tuesday, April 8, 2008
PALM HARBOR – A Palm Harbor University High School volunteer high school band coach was arrested April 7 for allegedly having sexual contact with two female students who are members of the band.

Ryan Wilborn, 22, of Clearwater was arrested on one count each of lewd and lascivious molestation and lewd and lascivious battery at the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Administration Building in Largo, according to a sheriff’s report.

The crimes allegedly took place between September and December 2007 with two 16-year-olds who were 15 at the time. The acts allegedly occurred at various locations in north Pinellas County, including one of the victim’s home, a grocery store parking lot and on the high school campus, at 1900 Omaha St. in Palm Harbor.

According to sheriff’s records, detectives said Wilborn engaged in inappropriate sexual contact with one of the females in September 2007 and engaged in sexual intercourse with the other several times between September and December 2007.

Authorities say Wilborn admitted to his actions when confronted by detectives.

The investigation continues, and detectives believe there may be additional victims still unidentified.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation or the suspect may contact Detective Brad Carrozza of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office crimes against children unit at 727-582-6200.
