CLEARWATER – Clearwater’s Construction Division of Public Services won three awards for the Cleveland Street Streetscaping Project. This $10 million project opened in December 2007.
The project received the Awards of Excellence in the public works field from the American Public Works Association’s local and state chapters. This award goes to projects that promote excellence in management, administration, safety, community relations, accomplishments under adverse conditions and efforts to maintain quality.
In May, the West Central Florida chapter of the Construction Management Association of America presented the city with a Platinum Award for outstanding achievement in the practice of project and construction management. This award is given for professional management practice consisting of an array of services applied to construction projects including the management of quality, cost, time and scope.
“The Construction Division is very proud and excited about these awards,” said Perry Lopez, construction manager. “... The awards acknowledge the City of Clearwater’s Construction Division as a bona fide construction operation.”
