Summertime Marketplace continues through October
CLEARWATER – The Summertime Marketplace will be held June 25 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. This will occur on the last Wednesday of each month through October at Clearwater City Hall, 112 S. Osceola Ave. at Pierce Street.

Merchandise includes farm-fresh produce, gourmet cheese, bakery products, pottery, plants, art gift items, handmade crafts and jewelry, eco-friendly products and Fair Trade items. All who attend will receive a complimentary slice of watermelon.

Music is played from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free and handicap parking will be available. New vendors are welcome.

Patchington clothing trade-in to help prevent abuse
CLEARWATER – Patchington stores is scheduled to host a clothing trade-in sale to benefit Community Action Stops Abuse, which helps stop abuse against women.

July 16 and July 17, customers may trade in quality used clothing and receive a discount on comparable items of clothing. For every top traded in, customers will receive $10 off the purchase of a new top; for every bottom there’s a $15 discount, and for every jacket or dress, there’s a $20 discount.

Participating stores are located at 280 Indian Rocks Road N., Belleair Bluffs; 2520-A McMullen Booth Road at the Northwood Plaza in Clearwater; and 5901 Sun Blvd., Suite 116 at Isla Del Sol Shopping Village in St. Petersburg.

CASA will distribute the donated items to its local thrift shop where customers can purchase the items at low prices. Proceeds from the thrift shop go to fund programs which provide refuge, crisis intervention, advocacy, professional training and community outreach. Morton Plant Mease hosts Camp Nurse Jr.
DUNEDIN – Morton Plant Mease invites middle school students who are considering a career in nursing to a free summer camp to learn about the nursing field. Camp Nurse Jr. will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 23 to June 27 at 818 Milwaukee Ave., across from the Mease Dunedin Hospital ER in Dunedin. There are 15 spaces available for seventh- and eighth-grade students. Campers will learn CPR, talk with nurses, and experience what it’s like to be a nurse. To qualify, students must have at least a 2.75 grade-point average and a letter of reference from a teacher.
