Children's health fair set for July 26

CLEARWATER – The 15th annual Highlights on Health Children’s Health Fair will be Saturday, July 26, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Long Center, 1501 N. Belcher Road.

All children and youth enrolled at any Pinellas County school are welcome to attend the fair and take advantage of the free back-to-school and sports physicals.

The free services available to children in kindergarten through high school will include a complete physical exam, a sports exam including cardiovascular screening for high school athletes, vision screening, dental checkup, lead content screening, spinal screenings, school shots and child safety information.

Morton Plant Hospital will provide free echo cardiograms and electrocardiograms, tests that usually cost between $800 and $1,000, to high school athletes.

The tests are the best way to detect heart structural disorders.
