CLEARWATER – Clothes To Kids is looking for donations to prepare for the back-to-school season.
Clothes To Kids is a not-for-profit organization that provides free new and gently used clothing to low-income school children in Pinellas County. The current economy has made it more difficult for these families to buy clothing for their children, according to a news release. The group has served 50 percent more children this year than during the same period in 2007. In the back-to-school season, the organization predicts it will serve up to 70 kids a day.
The following are critical need items:
- Young men’s shorts, sizes 18 to 46
- Boys’ pants, sizes 6 to 16
- Girls’ pants, sizes 6 to 16
- Junior/plus size pants, sizes 13 and up
- Gently used athletic shoes in all sizes
Clothes may be dropped off from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at 1059 N. Hercules Ave., Clearwater. The organization also accepts cash donations that are tax-deductible and can be mailed to P.O. Box 6123, Clearwater, FL 33758 or dropped off in the store.
