CLEARWATER – The Rev. Robert Edward Coleman Jr., 85, died Thursday, July 13, 2006, at Harbourwood Nursing Center.
Born in Savannah, Ga., the Rev. Coleman moved to Tampa in 1947 from Richmond, Ky., then moved to Clearwater in 1949 from Tampa.
He was a minister for two years with Central Christian Church in Tampa and 23 years at First Christian Church, Clearwater.
In 1971, he was named “Mr. Clearwater.” He was a member of the Jaycees, the Rotary Club Clearwater East and the Clearwater Moose Lodge.
He is survived by Gaynell, his wife of 62 years; three grandsons, Robert E. Coleman, IV, New Port Richey; Aaron Stegemoller, Hallendale Beach; and Cary Stegemoller, Hopkinsville, Ky.; and two granddaughters, Elizabeth Taylor, Louisville, Ky.; and Rebecca Winter, Fort Wayne, Ind.
