James D. “Jimmy” Hall
CLEARWATER – James D. “Jimmy” Hall, 72, of Clearwater, died Monday, July 24, 2006 at his residence under the care of Hospice of the Florida Suncoast.

Born in Columbus, Ohio, he moved to Clearwater in 1959 from Zanesville, Ohio. He graduated from Ohio University in 1956. He was a local restaurateur, owning Jimmy Hall’s Steakhouse (1959-1998), Surfside Restaurant and Morningside Restaurant. He was a member of the Sertoma Club and Lion’s Club. He served on the board of UPARC, the Clearwater Chamber of Commerce and Baxter Health Care. He received the Sertoma’s Service to Mankind Award in 1978. He was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Racine; his daughters, Jenny Hall of Washington, D.C., Kelli Wynn of Tallahassee and Annie Dorough of Roanoke, Va.; his sons, Jay Hall and Mark Lambert, both of Clearwater; his sisters, Linda Rankin of Palm Harbor, Judy Termin of Miami and Sally Klein of Homestead; his brothers, Michael of Tarpon Springs and William of Sapphire, N.C.; and his six grandchildren, Jay R. Hall, Timothy Lambert, Ryan Rechnitzer, Jonathan Wynn, Andrew Wynn and Kayla Dorough.

Funeral services will be Friday, July 28, 10 a.m., at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park.
