Sleeping man arrested for stealing wallet

CLEARWATER – A homeless man was arrested Dec. 23 while sleeping in a car and charged with stealing a woman’s wallet.
Charged with strong-arm robbery and being held in lieu of $2,500 bail at the Pinellas County Jail is Matthew L. Perkins, 36, no known address.
Deputies said he was discovered sleeping in a car at the Albertson’s supermarket, 1921 Belcher Road. He allegedly robbed an unidentified woman of her wallet at another market in Dunedin.
