Detectives assigned to the Robbery/Homicide and Burglary and Pawn Units arrested Winsett in connection with a smash and grab burglary on Jan. 29 and the Jan. 17 and Feb. 1 robberies at a Munchees convenience store, 2100 Bayshore Blvd. in Dunedin.
Approximately 100 scratch-off lottery tickets were stolen from the store during the smash and grab burglary. The suspect was identified after fingerprints on the cashed-in winning tickets came back to the suspect’s brother.
According to detectives, following the January 29th smash and grab burglary, Winsett, gave scratch-off lottery tickets to his brother to repay a debt. Deputies say some hours later the suspect’s brother and his girlfriend, cashed in the winning tickets at a 7-Eleven, 100 Alt. 19 in Palm Harbor.
