DUNEDIN – The Bay Pines VA Community Clinic will move from 1721 Main St., Dunedin to Palm Harbor to expand services to area veterans. The new clinic will be at 35209 U.S. 19 N., Palm Harbor and will be re-named the Palm Harbor VA Community Clinic.
The new clinic, leased by the Department of Veterans Affairs, was leased at an estimated annual cost of $162,000 for at least seven years. This clinic will have about 4,400 more square feet than the current clinic, and will total 9,999 square feet of space, according to a press release from the Department of Veterans Affairs. The clinic will include expanded services. The clinic will be designed to provide gender specific care for female veterans.
In 2008, about 5,500 veterans sought care at the Dunedin VA Clinic and almost 31,500 outpatient visits were conducted. The new location and expansion is expected to open in the fall or winter of 2009.
