DUNEDIN - All Dunedin Water Utility customers received notice on Thursday of a precautionary boil water notice.
According to a press release, at about 8 a.m., the citywide water distribution system pressures fell below the minimum Florida Department of Environmental Protection requirements. The problem has been corrected and there is no problem with the water, the press release said.
As a precaution, the Dunedin Water Division advises that all water used for drinking or cooking be boiled. A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient. As an alternative, bottled water may be used.
This precautionary boil water notice will remain in effect until the bacteriological testing confirms that the water is safe to drink. The public will be notified as soon as the test results are received, which takes approximately three days.
