DUNEDIN – Pinellas County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Dunedin man at his residence about 5:50 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17.
Darrell Lawson, 39, was arrested for capital sexual battery on four victims under the age of 12. He remains in the Pinellas County Jail on bond of $900,000.
According to detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit, two of the victims disclosed to one of the victims’ aunt, that Lawson had engaged both of them in sexual activity from the time they were age 6 to age 9. The girls are now 11 and 12 years old. The crime was reported to the Sheriff’s Office on Aug. 7, and detectives began investigating the case.
During the course of the investigation, detectives discovered two additional victims. Detectives say Lawson engaged in sex with one of the victims between 1995 and 1996, when she was 10 years old; and the other, from 2004 to 2007 when she was between the ages of 11 and 14.
