DUNEDIN – The Dunedin City Commission unanimously approved on Sept. 13 the revocable license for the Dunedin Brewery’s “Oktobeerfest” event on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 5 and 6.
Douglas Avenue will be closed from Skinner Boulevard to Grant Street from 7 a.m. Friday until 7 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 7.
For several years, the Brewery has held this event on its property, and in 2009 the event expanded to include a portion of Douglas Avenue. This has run smoothly in the past and has not had any problems due to the road closure. The event itself will run from Friday, Oct. 5, 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. and on Saturday, Oct. 6 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. The Brewery will pay all costs related to traffic control, cleanup, and any other city costs, in addition to the required $2,000 license fee and a $1,000 clean-up and damage deposit.
