DUNEDIN – A Clearwater teen was injured Nov. 10 when an 89-year-old woman driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee hit the bike he was riding.
According to a report from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, Daniel E. McLaughlin, 16, was riding his bicycle about 8 p.m. Nov. 10 on the sidewalk on Main Street in Dunedin. As he crossed New York Avenue in the crosswalk, he was struck by Mary J. Woodmansee of Clearwater, who was making a right turn onto Main Street.
McLaughlin was transported by ambulance to St. Joseph’s Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Deputies say McLaughlin was not wearing a helmet and had no lights on the bike.
