Holiday Event Postponed
DUNEDIN – The city of Dunedin canceled its Old Fashioned Christmas and rescheduled for Sunday, Dec. 12, 6 to 10 p.m., in downtown Dunedin. The event will follow the annual Holiday Parade, which begins at 4 p.m. on Douglas Avenue.

The event features horse and carriage rides, numerous entertainment venues, children’s activities, decorated lamp posts, quilters in store fronts, shopping, food and more.

On Saturday, Dec. 5, Santa Claus arrives by boat in the holiday boat parade and tree lighting at the Dunedin Marina from 6 to 9 p.m.

Decorated boats will leave Marker 1 Marina and travel south down the Intracoastal Waterway to the Dunedin Marina. Santa will ride on the last boat and light the city’s largest tree upon arrival. The Dunedin Concert Band will perform in Edgewater Park beginning at 7 p.m.

The city’s annual holiday parade, Winter Holidays Around the World, begins Saturday, Dec. 12, 4 p.m., on Douglas Avenue and Beltrees Street, proceeding north past Pioneer Park.

After the parade, Santa will help conduct the Dunedin Middle School Highlander Band performance from the main stage at Pioneer Park. Call 812-4530.

Bay Scout Christmas tree sale
Boy Scout Troop 434’s annual Christmas tree sale is on. Proceeds from the sale of trees goes directly to the Scouts to support year-round activities. The tree lot is located in front of St. Alfred’s Church, 1601 Curlew Road, Palm Harbor. Hours are Monday through Friday, 5 to 9 p.m., and Saturday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wreaths, stands and other items also are available.

Dunedin Chorus holiday activities
DUNEDIN – The Dunedin Chorus has been busy this year and has planned a full schedule of activities in the coming weeks.

Nine students were chosen to perform with the Pinellas County All County Honor Chorus. Alex Gallagher, Tony Giallourakis, Catherine Card, Stephanie Eyers, Jennifer McClure, Ashley Garber, Joy Checca, Jaimie Myers and Brooke Evans participated in the performance at Ruth Eckerd Hall on Nov. 9.

The Madrigals and Falconaires Honor Chorus ensembles will be performing at various events in the Dunedin area, including the Dunedin Old Fashioned Christmas event on Friday, Dec. 4.

The chorus members will be collecting donations to support the program on Saturday, Dec. 5, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Walgreens and Ace locations in Dunedin.

The Honor Chorus will participate in a presentation of a candlelight processional on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 4 p.m., at Disney’s Epcot.

The chorus also will present its winter concert on Tuesday, Dec. 15, 7 p.m., in the auditorium at Dunedin High School, 1651 Pinehurst Road. Donations supporting the chorus will be collected at the door
