‘Disney Live! Winnie the Pooh’ is journey of fun and surprises
Article published on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2005
TAMPA – Winnie the Pooh, Tigger and their friends will come to life on stage in “Disney Live! Winnie the Pooh” on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 6 and 7 at Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center’s Carol Morsani Hall. Show times will be 11 a.m., 2 and 5 p.m. Saturday; and 1 and 4 p.m. Sunday.

This production will feature the hunny-loving Winnie the Pooh as well as Tigger, Piglet, Eeyore, Rabbit, Kanga, Roo and Owl. The characters of the Hundred Acre Wood will embark on a journey of fun and surprise as they plan a surprise party for Winnie the Pooh.

Narrating the tale is Tracie, the storyteller who will guide the audience through the performance with the help of her three amusing and eager Hunny Helpers. The Hunny Helpers will provide constant humor as they help change scenes, interact with the audience and follow Tracie’s direction throughout the story.

Drawing from the vast library of Pooh music, music director David Loud has incorporated new arrangements of songs such as “Winnie the Pooh,” “Rumbly in My Tumbly,” “The Whoop-De-Dooper Bounce” and other favorites. From simple dance steps and memorable songs to high-energy bouncing and audience sing-alongs, everything will come together on the stage in this new production.

Tickets range from $10 to $36 and are available by calling (813) 229-7827 or (800) 955-1045, in person at the Center Ticket office or at TBPAC.ORG. The show is toddler-friendly, and lap seats will be available for children 2 and under for $5.
