LARGO – The Largo Charter Review Committee invites members of the public to attend a City Charter public input meeting Tuesday, Jan. 28, 6 p.m., at Largo City Hall, 201 Highland Ave.
The purpose of this meeting is to hear any ideas or concerns residents may have regarding the city charter and proposed amendments as the committee concludes its review.
The charter serves as the constitution for the city of Largo and was last reviewed and updated in 2005. The committee will present a report of its findings and any recommended amendments to the commission, likely in February 2014.
The City Commission then will adopt an ordinance to include proposed charter amendments on the November 2014 election ballot. Only those amendments approved by the voters will be incorporated into the charter. The existing charter is available at www.Largo.com.
